Thompson, Nora M.A.

Nora Thompson is an Academic Specialist that has had a wide range of experience in the field of early childhood education.  She has been an early childhood special education teacher, both in preschool classrooms and through the Early On program.  She created Galileo Early Childhood Center, an inclusive preschool based on the Reggio Emilia Approach.  Ms. Thompson has worked as a director of a day care center and as adjunct faculty at Lansing Community College as well.  She is committed to providing experiences for children, families and student teachers of the highest quality.  She is interested in observation and documentation of children's learning.  She is an advocate for the importance of taking time with young children, not rushing through their day.  Ms. Thompson is deeply supportive of equal access, social justice, and respectful interactions with others.
